Masabo Culture Company transports its audiences back to the heart of West
Africa with a visual feast of colourful costumes and props, exotic instruments
and incredibly athletic dances. The driving, energetic beat of the djembé, the
doundoun, the kenkeni, not to mention the mesmerizing melodies of the balafon
and bororo, will have audiences in a spiritual and physical groove immediately!
Audience participation is offered throughout a performance with call and
response chanting, and if the venue allows, audience will put their best West
African dance moves to the test!
Masabo Culture Company provides both a purely Music and Dance
demonstration performance for a more energetic crowd or a more theatrically
based program blending the age-old tradition of Storytelling together with Music
and Dance to entertain and educate the public.
Concerts can vary in duration, depending on the presenters requirements.
Festival shows can be accompanied by a Drum Circle, Drumming Workshops or Dance
Workshops.
Number of performers can vary from 2 to 7 artists on stage.
